Description
Some have asked how you might go about stuffing something like a spider, well here you go! Pins and needles, pins and needles... The abdomen is drained through the spinneret, I then inject them with alcohol with a dash of other preservatives to prevent shrinkage. Then that gets drained with the same needle. The angle of the needle lets fluid fall to the bottom of the syringe leaving air at the top. That air gets injected into the spider and a very mild heat source is used to do the drying. I have found coating the needle with just a touch of oil helps with getting it out at the end. The legs and all the other business are kept in place with pins.
Hope you enjoy this fun little trivial DYI session! Next time I stuff a spider or insect I will take a few more instructive shots for those who want to know more about this.

O.o One can stuff insects? I knew you could preserve them sure, I have a huge scorpion in a little glass frame (somewhere) but I was never aware of the process.
